2013 Bike Month Commuter Challenge Winners
Bike Month 2013 was another great success! Once again we saw great participation in the Commuter Challenge (372 participants, 3,413 trips, 38,737 miles not driven, and 2,130 pounds of CO reduced), Bike Swap, and in a fabulous list of events that were sponsored and hosted by local community partners. Participants could sign up as a team or individual to participate in the challenge and be eligible to win an overnight getaway to Portland with travel on Amtrak. Other prizes included gift certificates to Tacoma Bike, bike tune-ups, and team pizza parties—with a special drawing for a $100 Tacoma Bike gift certificate to go to a college or university student who logged five trips in May!
Thank you to the many cyclists who participated and continue to ride year-round. We look forward to seeing you at Bike Month events in 2014! Keep up with bicycling and other events year-round by becoming a fan of PierceTrips, TacomaMobility, and DowntownOntheGo on Facebook.
